Last week the crew from Charlotte TEEN had the wonderful opportunity of hanging out with, The Leaders Team of the McCrorey YMCA! The Leaders Team is the McCrorey YMCA's remix of The Leaders Club, which is the YMCA's national Teen initiative. Leaders Team originally started at the Johnston YMCA however, they now hold their meetings weekly at the McCrorey YMCA Family Branch.
Weekly sessions for The Leaders Team focus on community service, college /career exploration and self-identification. As result, the leadership for the Leaders Team have been recognized throughout the City of Charlotte for their success in urban programming for teens and has been featured on local news stations.
The Leaders Team Highlights include...
10+ Volunteer Activities a year
100% College Acceptance and Graduation Rate
20+ Internship and Paid experiences for Teens
College tours to all of the state-supported Universities in NC as well as a ton of college campus outside of NC.
Best of all Leaders Team has a 90% Retention Rate
But the McCrorey YMCA does not stop there! McCrorey YMCA also offers the following Teen Programs- Y LEADERS, Teens In Leadership Training (T.I.L.T.) After School Program, Teen Holiday Camp, Teen Summer Camp and Teen Activity Center!
